From newborns to weddings, family portraits and milestone celebrations, thousands of treasured New England memories have passed through Kate Dhu’s lens. Now KE Photography has been crowned Best Photographer in the 2026 Best in the New England Awards.
Based in the New England and travelling extensively throughout the region, KE Photography attracted overwhelming support from voters, who consistently praised Kate’s ability to put clients at ease while producing beautiful, natural images.
Many said it wasn’t just the quality of the photographs that set KE Photography apart, but the experience itself.
“Kate is wonderful at taking photos and makes everyone feel comfortable with her friendly personality,” Rebecca said.
“Kate could not capture the moment any better than what she does. Her work is absolutely beautiful,” Montana said.
Others highlighted her warmth and patience, particularly when photographing children and families.
“Kate is always so caring and patient with the kids. She’s been taking our photos for over 12 years and always manages to capture the best pictures of us all,” Gemma said.
Several voters noted Kate’s versatility, trusting her to document multiple milestones over many years.
“Kate has photographed our wedding, maternity shoot, newborn session, special birthdays and more. Every time she makes everyone feel comfortable and has such a natural eye for photography,” Kelly said.
Wedding clients were equally enthusiastic.
“Kate was so easy to work with for our daughter’s wedding and produced amazing photos. Most of the time you didn’t even notice she was there, which was perfect,” Bec said.
Another voter, Jamie-Leigh, said Kate remained calm and creative even when unexpected weather threatened her wedding day.
“She captured our wedding like no other. Even with a storm that swept in unexpectedly, she worked around it and gave us the best photos to treasure forever.”
Many described Kate as someone who consistently goes above and beyond for every client.
“Her customer service is impeccable. She goes above and beyond for every customer and her photos are phenomenal,” Jasmine said.
“Professional, personal and heaps of fun. Kate is so lovely, she’ll travel anywhere and no job is too big or too small,” Cheryl said.
Voters also praised her ability to work across every stage of life, from maternity and newborn photography through to weddings, extended families and community events.
“She captures memories, emotions and milestones in a way that families will treasure forever,” Tahlia said.
Others pointed to her extensive knowledge of the New England, saying her familiarity with the region allows her to find spectacular locations while creating a relaxed atmosphere for clients.
At the end of the day, voters agreed the combination of exceptional photography, genuine care and a welcoming personality made KE Photography a deserving winner.
Kate said the award was both humbling and emotional, and thanked everyone who voted for her.
“I am absolutely honoured and so grateful to have been voted Best Photographer in the New England 2026,” she said.
“Waking up to this announcement has truly made my day, and I’m still a little speechless.
“The support from my clients, family, friends and the wider community means more to me than words can express.
“Photography is so much more than taking photos. It’s about preserving memories and telling people’s stories. To know that my work has resonated with so many people is incredibly humbling.”
