Freelancers

The New England Times is always on the hunt for local journalists to add to the freelancer team.

You must live in, or have formerly lived in, the 12 LGAs of the New England/North West. Those who live here understand why: the New England has a culture all of its own, and if you don’t live it, you won’t get it.

We invite all our freelancers into our Slack space so you can feel a part of the team and collaborate on stories with fellow freelancers.

We offer a sliding scale of freelance rates based on complexity of the story rather than a per word arrangement, that equates to about $50/hr, up to $75/hr for an experienced journalist. We can negotiate on costs or rates once you have proven your value to the team.

If you have a nose for finding a great story, and the experience of delivering, we would love to hear from you.

Please apply by emailing your resume and writing samples to editor@netimes.com.au
