Essential Energy advises of planned power outage for Bendemeer and surrounding areas

Essential Energy is advising customers in Bendemeer, Watsons Creek and surrounding areas of a planned power outage on Tuesday, 21 July 2026, to allow essential maintenance on the main powerline supplying the area.

The outage will enable crews to safely replace two power poles on the high-voltage overhead powerline. About 490 customers will be affected, with power expected to be interrupted between 9am and 3pm.

Due to the location of the poles, the work cannot be completed using live-line techniques.

Affected customers have been notified of the planned outage, including the date and expected outage times.

Essential Energy encourages customers to check with their electricity retailer that their contact details are up to date so they continue to receive important outage notifications.

Customers are also encouraged to prepare for the planned outage by charging electronic devices, checking backup power arrangements where needed, and reviewing outage preparation tips at essentialenergy.com.au/outage-tips.

Customers who rely on electricity to operate medical equipment should have a power outage plan in place and ensure their life support details are up to date.
