Best in the New England is a promotion conducted by KORE Communication Strategy Research Pty Ltd (KORE CSR) through its subsidiary, New England Times. The promotion commences on 28 June 2026 and closes at 11.59pm AEST on 1 August 2026.

The following Rules, Terms and Conditions govern who may be nominated, who may vote, who may enter and who may win in the Best in the New England competition.

  1. Each valid vote constitutes one entry into the competition.
  2. By submitting a vote, entrants acknowledge and agree to be bound by these Rules, Terms and Conditions.
  3. All voters will be subscribed to the New England Times email list as a condition of entry. Entrants may unsubscribe at any time.
  4. Each day a new category will be announced. Votes submitted for that day’s category must be for a person or business that fits that category. Votes that do not comply may be declared invalid.
  5. Nominees must live or have an active business presence (such as an office or outlet) within one of the following local government areas:
    • Armidale Regional Council
    • Glen Innes Severn Council
    • Gunnedah Shire Council
    • Gwydir Shire Council
    • Inverell Shire Council
    • Liverpool Plains Shire Council
    • Moree Plains Shire Council
    • Narrabri Shire Council
    • Tamworth Regional Council
    • Tenterfield Shire Council
    • Uralla Shire Council
    • Walcha Council
  6. Votes for businesses or individuals based outside these local government areas may be declared invalid.
  7. Voters may vote as many times as they wish, but may only vote once for the same nominee in the same category. Multiple votes for the same nominee in the same category by the same voter will be considered invalid. Voters may vote for multiple nominees within a category and may vote for the same nominee across multiple categories where applicable.
  8. There are no restrictions on voting for employers, employees, friends, family members or yourself. Businesses and individuals may vote for themselves.
  9. Employees of KORE CSR and its subsidiaries are ineligible to win the weekly cash prize but may otherwise participate in the promotion.
  10. Winners of each category will be determined solely by the highest number of valid votes received. The decision of KORE CSR is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  11. Each category winner will receive:
  • A Best in the New England 2026 PDF Winner Certificate.
  • A Best in the New England 2026 winner social media graphic.
  • A 50% off New England Times advertising voucher with a maximum value of $5,000.
  1. Advertising vouchers:
  • may be transferred to another person or business;
  • may not be redeemed for cash;
  • must be redeemed by 30 September 2026;
  • are subject to New England Times advertising booking conditions.
  1. A person or business may win more than one category.
  2. All eligible nominees, whether they win or not, will receive a special advertising offer from New England Times. These offers are non-transferable and may not be redeemed for cash.
  3. All eligible voters will automatically be entered into a weekly draw to win $100 cash.
  4. One weekly cash prize winner will be randomly drawn from all eligible votes received during the relevant competition week.
  5. Each valid vote constitutes one entry into that week’s cash prize draw. Individuals may enter multiple times by submitting valid votes.
  6. Weekly cash prizes will be paid by electronic bank transfer or PayID to an account nominated by the winner.
  7. If a winner cannot be contacted using the details supplied with their entry within a reasonable period, KORE CSR reserves the right to redraw or forfeit the prize.
  8. KORE CSR may, at its absolute discretion, withdraw or exclude any person from the promotion or participation in any prize where that person behaves in a manner considered inappropriate, offensive, antisocial, dangerous, threatening or likely to cause harm to themselves or another person.
  9. The maximum total prize pool is $500 cash and up to $160,000 in advertising vouchers, representing a maximum prize pool value of $160,500. KORE CSR makes no undertaking or guarantee that the full prize pool value will be awarded or redeemed.
  10. The decisions of KORE CSR regarding both the Best in the New England category winners and the weekly cash prize winners are final.
