Whether customers are searching for the perfect fruit tree, a statement pot or simply some expert advice, Cedar Nursery & Design has become the go-to destination for gardeners across the New England.
The Armidale business has been crowned Best Nursery in the 2026 Best in the New England awards, with voters overwhelmingly praising its huge range of plants, knowledgeable staff and welcoming atmosphere.
Again and again, customers highlighted the combination of variety and service that keeps them coming back.
Laura summed it up simply, describing the team as “always helpful” with “a huge range of plants and pots.”
Others were equally succinct. Michael nominated Cedar for its “variety & service”, while Michelle praised its “wonderful knowledgeable service” and said it was “always a beautiful place to visit.”
Many voters pointed to the nursery’s extensive range.
“They have the most incredible plants and plant life around,” Tayla said.
“They have a massive selection of bespoke plants. Customer service is always amazing too,” added Kira.
Natasha said Cedar offered “the best range of vegetables, fruit trees and plants of all kinds,” alongside “a great selection of garden features and pots,” while Emma praised “a great range of plants, and willingness to order in more, beautiful accessories, pots, and features for the garden.”
Customers also recognised the expertise of the staff.
“Cedar Nursery is the best nursery in New England because it offers a wide variety of high-quality, healthy plants, expert gardening advice, and exceptional customer service,” Jade wrote.
Toby singled out one team member in particular, saying the nursery was “very tidy and clean with a very great selection of plants and other garden accessories” and that “Alice helped me find everything I needed and was very kind.”
Others appreciated the improvements made to the business in recent years.
“Great plants, great environment, they have really done a great job renovating and improving the atmosphere,” Caleb said.
Rachael said every visit was worthwhile, praising “lovely helpful staff, an excellent range of plants, garden accessories and anything else you need to grow a beautiful garden,” adding that her family makes “a special trip up there… a few times a year” to replenish their garden.
From experienced green thumbs to first-time gardeners, voters agreed Cedar Nursery & Design offers the products, knowledge and friendly service that help gardens thrive, earning it the title of Best Nursery in the New England.
