Tenterfield’s Humph 4 Tyres has been voted the New England’s Best Tyre Shop in the 2026 Best in the New England awards. The locally owned and operated business, which fits everything from cars to trucks to tractors, earned strong praise from customers for owner Humphrey and his team’s honesty, hard work and unbeatable customer service.
Voters repeatedly pointed to Humphrey’s willingness to help customers whenever trouble struck, no matter the day or the hour.
Wendy said Humph provided the best customer service she had ever experienced.
“Nothing is ever too hard and he makes himself available all the time no matter what day of the week or time of day,” she said. “Just works hard and aims to please all of the time. He’s just a top bloke.”
Jim praised the team’s honesty when it came to recommending the right product for the job.
“Humphrey and his team have always gone out of their way to help anybody who is having tyre troubles anytime and anywhere,” Jim said. “He has always given honest recommendations as to the best tyre for your needs and style of motoring and sells his tyres at a reasonable cost.”
Humphrey’s experience in the trade also stood out to voters, with Linda highlighting his years in the business and his skill behind the tyre machine.
“Humphrey has been in the tyre business for many years. He is one of the best tyre fitters in the New England,” Linda said. “Humph and his employees are very reliable and get the job done.”
Tyrone commented on Humphrey’s genuine desire to help, with a ‘no job too small’ attitude.
“Genuine kindness and compassionate service, We’ve had both our vehicles looked after by the team, and even a last min tyre puncture booking wasn’t a hassle to show up and we’re we’re on our way,” he said.
Across the voting, the same themes came through again and again: reliability, fair prices and a team that goes above and beyond for customers, whatever their tyre trouble.
As a local, independent operator handling everything from family sedans to trucks and tractors, Humph 4 Tyres has built a reputation as the go-to for tyre troubles across town and the surrounding district.
