Electoral commission computer steals 2230 New England votes

Every local government election conducted by the NSW Electoral Commission did not have their votes counted properly, with 30% of the New England votes a computer deemed to be informal able to be saved and counted.

Something went very wrong at Toomelah’s polling booth in the local government elections held on September 14. Like a canary in a coal mine, the abnormal election result at Toomelah may have revealed a much bigger problem state wide.

43 of Toomelah’s 187 residents, only 6 of whom do not identify as Aboriginal, showed up to vote on September 14. Only 3 had their votes counted.
