Tracey Spicer to headline regional leadership summit in Tamworth

Tracey Spicer AM

How can leaders cut through misinformation in the age of AI? Award-winning journalist, author, and broadcaster Tracey Spicer AM will tackle that question in Tamworth next week as the headline speaker at the 2026 New England North West Regional Leadership Summit.

The summit will bring together the region’s business, government, industry, and community leaders for a day of fresh ideas, challenging conversations, and networking. This year’s theme is Bold Thinking. Brave Leadership. Regional Impact.

Spicer will lead a session on truth, trust, and leadership in the age of AI. She will look at how leaders can cut through misinformation, think critically, and communicate with confidence in an increasingly complex world.

The program will also cover the economic outlook, the rising cost of doing business, workforce challenges, practical uses of AI, and the infrastructure needed to unlock regional growth.

Regional businesses can also take part in an interactive workshop run by the University of New England, looking at how AI and technology can save time and help businesses stay competitive. People attending are encouraged to bring a laptop for the hands-on session.

The summit is hosted by Business NSW New England North West, in major partnership with the University of New England and Tamworth Regional Council, with support from Essential Energy and GHD.
