Uralla residents asked to have their say on draft inclusion plan

Uralla Shire residents have 28 days to help shape how the council makes its information, facilities, and services easier for everyone to use.

The council’s draft Community Inclusion Action Plan 2026โ€“2030 is now on public exhibition, and feedback is open.

“We want Uralla Shire to be a place where everyone feels welcome, valued and able to participate in community life,” said Uralla Shire Mayor Robert Bell.

The plan meets the council’s obligations under the NSW Disability Inclusion Act 2014. It also takes a broader approach to improving access, participation, and inclusion for all members of the community.

It follows the council’s Disability Inclusion Action Plan 2022โ€“2026.

“This plan identifies practical actions to improve access to information, facilities, services and opportunities across our community,” he said.

The draft plan focuses on three themes:

  • Information: making communication clear, accessible, and inclusive
  • Accessibility: improving access to facilities, services, and public spaces
  • Opportunity: supporting participation in community, social, and economic life

Submissions received during the exhibition period will be considered before the final plan goes to council for adoption.

The draft plan is available on the council’s Your Say Uralla! website and at the council’s administration office in Uralla.

Mayor Bell urged residents to read the draft and send in their feedback.

“Community feedback will help ensure the final plan reflects local needs and priorities,” he said.
