Glen Innes businesses will have access to workshops, networking events and practical support throughout October as part of NSW Small Business Month.
Glen Innes Severn Council will host its month-long Rise & Thrive program, bringing together local businesses, entrepreneurs, employers, community organisations, training providers, government agencies and industry representatives.
Centred around the Glen Innes Highlands Hub, the program is designed to connect businesses with information, resources and support to help them grow, adapt and explore new opportunities.
Activities will include business breakfasts, keynote speakers, Lunch & Learn sessions, workshops, one-on-one advisory sessions, workforce and training opportunities, visitor economy information, women in business events and activities for young and emerging entrepreneurs.
Glen Innes Severn Mayor Margot Davis said small businesses played an important role in the local economy and community.
“Our small businesses are at the heart of the Glen Innes Highlands. They create local jobs, support community organisations and events, provide essential services and help shape the character of our towns and villages. Small Business Month is an opportunity to celebrate that contribution while connecting local businesses with new ideas, practical support and opportunities that can help them grow and succeed.”
Program highlights will include sessions covering visitor trends and opportunities for local businesses, apprenticeships and workforce pathways, regional industry developments, young entrepreneurship, business support services and the growing Glen Innes Health Hub.
The program will also showcase the Glen Innes Highlands Hub as a place for businesses, government agencies, education providers and community organisations to collaborate and access support locally.
Events will culminate on Friday, October 30, with a full day at the Highlands Hub featuring a business breakfast, open day and Creative After Dark event bringing together local businesses, creatives and the wider community.
Council is a registered NSW Small Business Month Collaboration Partner, with the Rise & Thrive program aimed at established businesses, start-ups, prospective business owners, people returning to the workforce and employers looking to expand their teams.
Rise & Thrive – NSW Small Business Month 2026 will run throughout October at the Glen Innes Highlands Hub and participating locations across the region.
