Tourism forum to highlight opportunities for growth across regional NSW

Tourism leaders, industry representatives, business owners and government stakeholders will gather in Tenterfield this month to discuss the future of regional tourism and the opportunities it presents for communities across New South Wales.

Hosted by Business NSW New England North West in partnership with the Tenterfield Chamber of Tourism, Industry and Business, the Future Tourism Forum 2026 will focus on how regional destinations can capitalise on growing visitor demand to drive economic growth, support local businesses and create jobs.

Regional tourism continues to be a significant contributor to local economies, with visitors supporting accommodation providers, hospitality venues, retailers, attractions and service industries. As more travellers seek authentic experiences in regional Australia, communities such as Tenterfield are well positioned to benefit from increased visitation and investment.

The forum will bring together experts from across the tourism sector to examine emerging trends, destination development opportunities and the partnerships needed to support sustainable growth. Discussions will also address key priorities including workforce development, housing and infrastructure, helping ensure regional communities can continue to thrive alongside tourism growth.

The event aims to identify practical solutions that strengthen regional economies, enhance visitor experiences and support vibrant, liveable communities across New South Wales.
