Inverell businesses urged to have their say

Inverell Shire Council is calling on local business owners and managers to take part in its 2026 Business Retention and Expansion Survey, with feedback set to help shape future economic development and support initiatives across the shire.

Council says the success of the project depends on strong participation from the local business community, with responses providing valuable insight into the challenges, opportunities and priorities facing businesses in Inverell Shire.

The survey will help Council build an accurate picture of the local economy, better understand business needs and identify ways to support future growth and investment.

Mayor Kate Dight encouraged businesses to take the opportunity to share their views.

“Our local businesses play a vital role in the strength and prosperity of the Inverell Shire, and this survey will help Council identify practical ways to support their continued growth and success. I encourage all business owners and managers to take a few minutes to complete the survey and share their insights.”

Council said information gathered through the survey will be used to inform a report outlining key findings and recommendations. Any personal information provided will remain commercial-in-confidence and will not be included in the report.

Business owners and managers across the Inverell Shire local government area can complete the survey online here.

The survey closes on Friday, 19 June 2026.
