Darks Plumbing takes the win – and Facebook – by storm

They didnโ€™t even have a Facebook page when voting opened, but they sure do now. After a groundswell of community support during Best in the New England voting yesterday, Darks Plumbing Walcha has taken out the title of Best Plumber, and their very first Facebook post was to share the good news.

The family-run business was flooded with praise from locals both in votes and online comments, prompting the team to set up a social media presence for the first time just to keep up with the attention. But that wasn’t business co-owner and plumber Adam Dark on a different set of tools – that was Mrs Dark.

“My wife Arokiya set up the page so it was a bit of a surprise,” Adam said.

Itโ€™s no surprise they won, however, with comments unanimous in their support for the prompt, professional and always friendly service.

โ€œFast, quick to fix all problems and with a smile,โ€ said Cheryl-Anne.

โ€œPrompt. Friendly. Value for money,โ€ said Natasha.

โ€œExcellent service. I mean excellent. Weekends, public holidays, any time of day. Then they ring to check if the problem has been fixed,โ€ said Debbie.

โ€œThey come when needed, they fix problems, and all of their staff are respectful to customers and to each other,โ€ added Fiona.

The teamโ€™s reputation for reliability and customer care stood out, with voters praising their can-do attitude and after-sales follow-up.

โ€œNothing is too much trouble for Adam and his team. Prompt, efficient service. Best by a country mile,โ€ said Carol.

โ€œReliable, fast, professional service,โ€ said Rebecca.

โ€œQuick service, reliable and just all-round a top bloke,โ€ said Lola.

And it was lots of voters – more than 50 votes ahead of their nearest rival – saying what they loved about Adam and Darks Plumbing team is that it wasnโ€™t just about fixing pipes. Darks Plumbingโ€™s connection to the community too.

โ€œGreat service, great people, a local sponsor of sport,โ€ said Emma.

โ€œCommunity spirit, customer service, attention to detail,โ€ said Bec.

โ€œFair pricing, great communication, and overall great service to the community,โ€ said Crystal.

One of the most common comments was just how quickly they respond to emergencies, always with a smile.

โ€œAdam attacks every job with a smile. He arrives when he says he will and leaves the site neat and tidy,โ€ said Pippie.

โ€œAlways reliable, very quick to respond and honest hard-working locals that donโ€™t charge an arm and a leg,โ€ said Julie.

And the compliments didnโ€™t stop there.

โ€œBest plumber. Great blokes. Always helpful,โ€ said Steven, while Rachel said โ€œthey are always happy to help and quick to respond,โ€ said Rachel.

Adam said it was great to hear that they had won and thanked his customers and crew.

“A big thank you to Tim, Harry, Leonie and Roke for all their help and hard work. The business would not be what it is without them,” Adam said.

“Thanks to our customers for their support over the last 5 years.”

For a business thatโ€™s built its reputation job by job, house by house, the Best Plumber title is a well-earned nod for Darks Plumbing from a loyal customer base in the Walcha Community.
