$2.92 million has been allocated towards the rehabilitation and maintenance of Blackville Road, West of Willow Tree on the Liverpool Plains.
Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson said they recognised the importance of the local road.
“The NSW Nationals in Government are committed to upgrading, sealing and fixing our regional roads and our community is reaping the rewards of this strong investment,” Mr Anderson said.
“We have seen incredible amounts of funding go towards roads like Rangari Road, Grain Valley Road, Goonoo Goonoo Road and more and today’s announcement builds on our commitment to fixing roads right across the region.
“It’s great to be in the Liverpool Plains today to announce that Blackville Road is receiving a much-needed cash splash, ensuring we boost productivity in the Liverpool Plains while keeping families safe.”
Liverpool Plains Shire Mayor Doug Hawkins OAM said the works would help support the local agriculture sector.
“The agricultural community is a huge part of the Liverpool Plains identity and contributes hugely to the national and local economy and this funding will enable us to deliver on our aim to provide them a decent standard of road network from which to run their businesses.”
Nationals Minister for Regional Transport and Roads Sam Farraway said Fixing Local Roads was a game changer for regional communities.
“Regional NSW has been doing it tough and we know how much better roads mean to people living in the regions, so I’m especially pleased to announce this injection of much needed funds,” Mr Farraway said.
