After almost two decades as Professionals Armidale, one of the city’s most trusted real estate agencies will become McGrath Armidale from today, promising national reach without losing its local team.
The change takes effect on Thursday, 1 October. Residential business will move to the McGrath brand, while commercial property will be handled under the Knight Frank name.
The reason for the switch is to allow the business to grow further, and Mr Saxby said McGrath offered a that opportunity in a brand that aligned with their values.
“McGrath and Knight Frank offer a higher standard of marketing with a global reach,” said licensee and director Ben Saxby.
McGrath have been on an aggressive growth spurt themselves, adding Burke and Smyth in Tamworth to the stable last year as the first dual-branded McGrath and Knight Frank office since Knight Frank acquired McGrath in 2024, and opening offices in Casino and Kyogle last month. The company also launched a projects division in March, and a private office for high net worth individuals last December.
“As Licensee in Charge, I saw McGrath as the ideal partner for the next phase of our business growth,” Mr Saxby said.
“We have built a strong reputation locally based on trust, results, and exceptional client service, and it was important to align with a brand that reflects those same values.”
He said the national network would open new doors for the Armidale team which has been voted Best Real Estate in the New England for the last two years.
“McGrath’s commitment to excellence, innovation, and professionalism, combined with the strength of its national network, provides significant opportunities for our team to continue evolving and delivering even greater outcomes for our clients.”
“The ability to collaborate with high-performing offices across the country, access industry-leading systems and support, and maintain consistently high standards across all aspects of the business makes McGrath a natural fit for our vision.”
The agency started contacting their clients over the weekend, and reassured them that the switch will have very little impact on how they work with the agency. Tenants will keep dealing with the same property manager and local team. The office location, rent payment arrangements, and day-to-day service will continue as normal, with minor updates to reflect the new branding.
“Same owners, same trusted staff, albeit with a new customer-centric vision to provide higher standard of service to our clients and our customers.”
“Most importantly, joining McGrath enables us to strengthen our local offering while positioning the business for sustainable long-term growth and continued leadership in the Armidale market,” Mr Saxby said.
