Motorists are being advised of changed traffic conditions on Goonoo Goonoo Road at South Tamworth next week as geotechnical investigations get underway.
Shoulder closures will be in place on Goonoo Goonoo Road, along with a single-lane closure and stop-slow traffic control on Calala Lane.
The investigations will help inform future upgrade work on Goonoo Goonoo Road.
Work will begin on Tuesday, 29 September and be carried out between 7am and 5pm each day until Friday, 2 October.
The investigations are expected to take four days to complete, weather permitting.
Traffic control and a reduced speed limit of 40km/h will be in place for the safety of workers and motorists.
Drivers are urged to allow extra time, drive to the conditions and follow the directions of signs and traffic controllers.
Transport for NSW has thanked motorists for their patience while the work is carried out.
