Tamworth is getting ready to dress up, dig deep and make a difference, with the White Elephant Ball returning for its 12th year in support of youth mental health.
The much-loved community fundraiser will take over Tamworth Town Hall on Saturday, October 17, bringing locals together for a big night with an even bigger purpose.
At the heart of this year’s Ball is a strong local message – money raised here stays here.
Funds will support batyr’s evidence-based mental health programs delivered in high schools across Tamworth and regional NSW, helping young people build resilience, break down stigma and feel more comfortable reaching out for help when they need it.
The programs have already reached hundreds of students, with feedback showing they are making a genuine difference.
Young people say they are more likely to check in with their mates and family, speak openly about how they are feeling, seek help earlier and turn to professional services when they need extra support.
Students have also described the sessions as “engaging”, “powerful”, “relatable”, and “an eye-opener for everyone”.
Batyr’s storytellers have been praised for creating an environment where young people can feel comfortable listening, reflecting and having honest conversations about mental health.
Batyr Fundraising Manager Daisy Owen said the White Elephant Ball plays an important role in bringing those programs to the region.
“Batyr’s preventative mental health programs make a meaningful difference for young people, families, and the broader community – and they are made possible for the Tamworth region through the support generated by the White Elephant Ball”.
Priority Home Loans has come on board as the Ball’s 2026 Platinum Sponsor, but there is still plenty of room for other local businesses and organisations to get behind the cause.
With four weeks until the big night, organisers are calling for more community partners, with Gold sponsorship available for $9,000, Silver for $4,000 and VIP packages for $1,500.
Businesses can also lend a hand by donating raffle prizes, lucky door gifts or auction items.
After 12 years, the White Elephant Ball continues to show what can happen when the Tamworth community gets behind its young people, and this October, locals are once again being invited to dress up, come together and help make a difference.
