Narrabri fire control centre to open doors to community

The NSW Rural Fire Service will open the doors of the new Narrabri Fire Control Centre to the community on Saturday, August 22.

The open day, to be held from 10am to 2pm at the centre on the Old Newell Highway, will give residents an opportunity to tour the new facility and meet local emergency services personnel.

The event will also provide information about bushfire preparedness ahead of the coming fire season.

Activities will include fire appliance and emergency services displays and demonstrations, drone capability displays, bushfire information sessions and family-friendly activities.

A barbecue lunch will also be available.

Several emergency services and volunteer organisations will support the event, which is open to the community.
