Bingara residents advised of temporary Telstra mobile disruptions during scheduled maintenance

Bingara residents and businesses are being advised to prepare for brief interruptions to Telstra mobile services when essential maintenance is carried out on the local mobile site next month.

The maintenance is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, 7 July, and is expected to be completed within one day.

During the works, the mobile site will need to be switched off for short periods to allow technicians to complete the maintenance safely. As a result, Telstra customers in the area may experience temporary reductions in mobile coverage.

Customers will receive an SMS before the work begins advising them of the planned maintenance.

Residents can continue to make and receive calls and send text messages during the disruption by enabling Wi-Fi Calling, a free feature available on most popular smartphones when connected to a Wi-Fi network.

Local businesses are encouraged to check that EFTPOS terminals can connect via their NBN or Wi-Fi service to help minimise any disruption to card payments during the maintenance.

The planned works will not affect NBN services, satellite internet services, PSTN landline services or mobile coverage provided by other networks.

If the Telstra site is temporarily offline, any calls to Triple Zero from a Telstra mobile will automatically connect to another available mobile network, where one is available, to ensure access to emergency services.

While every effort will be made to complete the work as scheduled, timings or impacts may change due to factors outside Telstra’s control. Customers can check the latest information at telstra.com.au/outages.
