Police are appealing for public assistance after beehive boxes containing bees were stolen from a property in the state’s Northern Tablelands.
Sometime between Tuesday, 31 March, and Wednesday, 6 May, 80 beehive boxes, including active bee colonies, were stolen from a rural property on Bruxner Way, about 15 km west of Bonshaw village and 100 km north-west of Glen Innes.
Police have been told the boxes and bee colonies are estimated to be worth about $150,000.
The boxes are described as predominantly cream in colour, featuring blue baseboards, blue and white lids, and red clear boards.
Officers attached to the Rural Crime Prevention Team have commenced an investigation.
