Man charged after alleged Pallamallawa home assault

A 37-year-old man has been refused bail after allegedly breaking into a Pallamallawa home and assaulting a woman during a domestic violence incident at the weekend.

Officers from New England Police District were notified about 1.45pm on Saturday 8 August of an alleged domestic violence incident at a house on Mosquito Creek Road, Pallamallawa, about 40km east of Moree.

Police were told a woman in her 30s was inside the home about 10pm the previous evening, Friday 7 August, when a man known to her entered the residence and pushed her, causing her to hit her head. Another person was inside the home at the time, and no further injuries were reported.

Police arrested the 37-year-old man at Moree Police Station about 2.30pm on Sunday 9 August.

He was charged with aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence, inflicting actual bodily harm, stalking or intimidating with intent to cause fear of physical harm (domestic), assault occasioning actual bodily harm (DV), and contravening a prohibition or restriction in an AVO (domestic).

The man was refused bail and appeared before Bail Division Court 5 on Monday 10 August, where he was again refused bail. He is due to reappear before Moree Local Court on Monday 19 October.
