Regional Australia Bank has extended its partnership with AFL North West NSW, becoming the naming rights sponsor of the Senior Men’s competition for the 2026 season.
The partnership was officially announced on Thursday, 26 February at Tamworth Oval No. 1, marking what both organisations describe as the next stage of a growing relationship aimed at strengthening community sport across the North West.
The extension builds on last year’s collaboration supporting the North West Blue Heelers Representative Program. The new agreement reflects a shared focus on supporting regional communities, creating opportunities for local athletes, and maintaining grassroots football across Tamworth, Armidale, Moree, Glen Innes, Gunnedah, Narrabri, and Inverell.
Under the agreement, the Senior Men’s competition will be known as the Regional Australia Bank Cup.
Regional Australia Bank chief executive David Heine said the expanded partnership followed the impact of last year’s arrangement.
“Community sport plays an important role in regional life, bringing people together and strengthening local connection,” Mr Heine said.
“After seeing the impact of last year’s partnership, extending our support and stepping into naming rights was a natural next step. As a member-owned bank built for the regions, we are proud to continue investing in the communities that support us.”
AFL Northern NSW Region Community Football and Competition Manager Brad Greenshields said the increased level of support would provide strong backing for the league.
“Regional Australia Bank has shown a genuine commitment to our league and our communities,” Mr Greenshields said. “Their decision to extend the partnership through naming rights is exciting for everyone involved and provides strong backing for community football across the North West.”
AFL has long played a role in community life across the region, providing participation opportunities and pathways for players of all ages.
Regional Australia Bank and AFL North West NSW said they would continue to focus on strengthening regional communities through participation, connection, and opportunity.
