A passion for craftsmanship, personalised service and a sparkling eye for detail has earned Armidale’s Regarde Jewellers the title of Best Jeweller in this year’s Best in the New England.
It’s a big milestone for owners Jermaine Peters and his partner Richard, who opened the boutique jeweller opposite the police station in Faulkner Street just two years ago this week. After building a strong following through their online store, the pair made the leap to bricks and mortar in 2023—and haven’t looked back.
Now, the people of the New England have voted Regarde the region’s best.
“Highly professional and knowledgeable, excellent customer service, great range of high-quality products,” said Karen of Armidale.
Voter after voter praised Regarde’s friendly service and quality workmanship, especially when it comes to custom pieces and sentimental redesigns.
“The customer service is top notch, honest and efficient advice,” said Hannah. “Both Richard and Jermaine take such great pride in what they do and the variety of in-house services they offer.”
Regarde offers much more than just sales, with repairs, restorations and watch servicing all handled in-store. As Shelley explained, “This jeweller in Armidale is professional and courteous. They provide services not available anywhere else in town, such as watch batteries for high-end watches. They have a beautiful range of jewellery—an excellent retailer.”
From fine engagement rings to quirky bespoke pieces, Regarde has quickly gained a reputation for their creativity and care. Taking their inspiration from a childhood love of jewellery and precious stones, Jermaine Peters and his partner Richard have a curated selection of pieces, from a range of playful, organic pieces by Australian jeweller Francisca Rendic to something more modern, along with a range of Citizen watches and Pandora charms and bracelets.

“Both Richard and Jermaine take such great pride in what they can do and the variety of in-house services they offer – they are great at also having a range of unique pieces with something for everyone’s taste.”
Jermaine and Richard built on a lifetime of love for all that glitters and sparkles – Jermaine, with his background buying and selling jewellery and diamond, and working with master jewellers within the industry, while Richard has an appreciation for the finest gemstones and the craftsmanship that goes into each piece.
Keen antiques pickers, Jermaine and Richard have also carry selected vintage and retro pieces – cleaned, polished, and ready to sparkle again for a new owner.
“Best customer service, thoughtful when redesigning something sentimental, and very talented jewellers,” said Chantelle.
On their Facebook page, Regarde said that finding out they’ve won was exciting news to start the day for the independent jewellers.

“This weekend will be the second anniversary of our opening, back on that first chilly July morning. What an adventure it has been since then.”

“Value for money, lovely jewellery and great people,” said Cameron. “Their ability is fantastic,” added Veronica. “The best service, the best jewellery, and the nicest staff,” said Lynette.
It’s clear that Jermaine and Richard have struck the right balance of technical expertise, creative flair and good old-fashioned customer service, and their second birthday present of being named the inaugural Best Jeweller in the New England is well deserved.
