Tamworth and Gunnedah will have more boots on the ground to keep communities safe as the latest police recruits commence their duties.
This week we welcome new Probationary Constables, PC Tyler Bailey and PC Tye McMahon.
“Today, two more police join the ranks of the Oxley Police District, beginning their careers serving the Gunnedah and Tamworth communities,” Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson said.
“Probationary Constables are an important part of the local police force, undertaking a wide range of jobs including responding to domestic issues, motor vehicle accidents, stealing offences and other incidents.”
Probationary Constables Bailey and McMahon reported for duty in Tamworth and Gunnedah today and will complete 12 months of on-the-job training under the supervision and support of senior local police.
“Community safety continues to be a focus for local police, and I’m continuing to push for greater resources to support them.
However, the local member isn’t stopping at just boots on the ground, calling for more support for the region.
“I also want a division of PolAir to be based in Tamworth, giving local police support from the air, and I’ll continue to call on the Labor Government to get on top of the crime issue in our region.”
