A 75-year-old man has died and two others, including a five-year-old girl, have been injured in a two-vehicle crash on Guyra Road between Guyra and Tingha.
Emergency services were called to the crash involving a white Toyota Hilux and a black Subaru Impreza about 3.30pm on Thursday, 24 September.
The 75 year old driver of the Toyota died before emergency services arrived.
The Subaru’s driver, a 30-year-old man, was trapped in the vehicle for some time. He was treated at the scene before being airlifted by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter to Gold Coast University Hospital.
His five-year-old female passenger was assessed and taken by road to Armidale Hospital with a shoulder injury while he was still trapped in the car.
Both were reported to be in a serious but stable condition overnight.
Guyra Road was closed for several hours following the crash, reopening some time after midnight.
Officers from New England Police District established a crime scene, which was examined by specialist officers from the Crash Investigation Unit.
