A man believed to be in his 20s has died in a single-vehicle crash near Tamworth.
Emergency services were called to Old Winton Road at Winton, about 15 kilometres northwest of Tamworth, shortly before 6am on Thursday.
Police said the vehicle had left the road and crashed into a tree.
The driver died at the scene and is yet to be formally identified.
Officers from Oxley Police District established a crime scene, with investigations continuing into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Police will prepare a report for the Coroner.
