The Inverell Singers will celebrate a decade of singing, friendship and community with a special anniversary concert next month, bringing together members, supporters and the wider Inverell community for an evening of music.
The Inverell Singers 10th Anniversary Concert will be held on Saturday, 5 September, at the Salvation Army Hall on Vivian Street, Inverell. Doors open at 3.30pm for a 4pm start, with tickets available at the door for $10 for adults and $5 for children.
The group is a community choir, open to anyone regardless of previous singing experience.
“A community choir is a group where people come together primarily for the enjoyment of singing, social connection and participation in the community, rather than to meet professional or highly competitive performance standards,” Inverell Singers Secretary Linda Foskey said.
Members are not required to audition to join. The Inverell Singers currently has 28 members, with new singers joining regularly.
Over the past decade, the group has become a valued part of Inverell’s local arts and cultural community, sharing its love of choral music through performances, community events and special occasions. The anniversary concert will celebrate that journey, with an entertaining and varied programme showcasing the group’s talents and the friendships built along the way.
President Mark Leonard said the concert was a chance to look back and to say thank you.
“This concert is a wonderful opportunity for us to celebrate how far we have come over the past ten years,” Mr Leonard said.
“It is also a chance to thank everyone who has supported The Inverell Singers along the way. We are looking forward to sharing this special occasion with our community.”
The group says the anniversary is not just a celebration of the past, but a chance to look ahead to its next chapter and its continuing contribution to the musical life of Inverell.
