Two teenagers have been charged after an alleged crime spree involving home break-ins, stolen vehicles and a police pursuit in the Moree region.
Police allege a group broke into a Boston Street home in Moree between 8pm on Friday and the early hours of Saturday, stealing the keys to a sedan before fleeing in the vehicle.
The stolen sedan was allegedly driven to a Blueberry Road service station, where the driver refuelled before leaving without paying.
About 5:20 am on Saturday, the sedan allegedly travelled to Market Street in Warialda, where three males forced their way into a home.
Police allege two were armed with machetes and an occupant was threatened before the group stole the keys to a station wagon and fled in the vehicle.
Officers later spotted the sedan and station wagon travelling on the Gwydir Highway near Pallamallawa and began a pursuit, which was terminated over safety concerns.
Police allege the drivers of both stolen vehicles drove towards police cars, forcing officers to take evasive action to avoid collisions.
The sedan was recovered at a Chester Street address in Moree about 6.20am, while the station wagon was found in bushland near Merindah Avenue.
