Armidale will once again become the creative heart of regional NSW this October, as the Creative Streets Festival returns with an expanded program of arts, culture, food and entertainment.

The festival launches with a free opening night street festival on Saturday 17 October, transforming Armidale’s CBD into a celebration of creativity and community, before continuing through to Sunday 8 November with three weeks of events and experiences across the region.

Opening night will feature an immersive mix of music, art, performance and interactive experiences, including headline artist Keyim Ba, the crowd-favourite CLIPPED! Karaoke, the Oracle of Time art installation, and the medieval-inspired world of The Pine Forest, alongside a wider program of performers, artists, workshops and cultural experiences. Major streets will close to traffic for the night.

Armidale Regional Council Mayor Sam Coupland said the festival had quickly become one of the region’s signature cultural events.

“Creative Streets is a celebration of everything that makes our region vibrant, innovative and connected. It’s an opportunity to showcase our local artists, performers, businesses and community groups while welcoming visitors to experience Armidale at its creative best,” Mayor Coupland said.

“Opening Night is shaping up to be an unforgettable experience, with something around every corner. Whether you’re interested in live music, visual arts, culture, food or interactive experiences, there will be plenty to discover.”

Beyond opening night, the festival expands into a three-week program showcasing some of the region’s most loved events, including the New England Garden Festival and the Black Gully Festival, alongside exhibitions, performances, workshops and community-led activities across the Armidale region.

A major addition for 2026 is Festival Eats, a new initiative inviting cafes, restaurants, pubs and food operators to craft a Creative Streets-inspired menu item, special offer or signature dish for $25 or less, to be featured during the festival period.

Residents, visitors, artists and businesses are encouraged to get involved. The full program, event information and Festival Eats participation details will be available at armidalecreativestreets.com.au in the lead-up to the festival.
