Tow World Tamworth has become far more than just a trailer and caravan business. It is a trusted local operation helping customers work, travel, tow and explore with confidence.
Owned and operated by Troy and Gayle Black, the family-run business specialises in caravans, trailers, towing products, parts, accessories, servicing and repairs, supporting everyone from local tradies and farmers to grey nomads, campers and travelling families.
Built around practical advice, hands-on experience and genuine customer care, Tow World Tamworth has quickly earned a reputation for making customers feel supported from the moment they walk through the door.
“We’re passionate about creating a welcoming and trustworthy experience for every customer,” said co-owner Gayle Black.
“We understand that buying a caravan, trailer or towing product is often a big decision, and we take pride in helping customers feel informed, supported and confident throughout the process.”
The business itself has a long-standing history in the Tamworth region, with Tow World operating locally for decades before Troy and Gayle took over ownership and began steering it into an exciting new era. The couple, who are passionate caravanners themselves, saw the opportunity as more than just a business venture.

“We wanted to purchase a business that we both genuinely loved and could build together as a family,” Gayle said.
“Our love of caravanning and travelling Australia helps us relate to our customers because we understand what people are looking for when it comes to comfort, safety and reliability on the road.”
Since taking over, the pair have continued expanding Tow World’s range of products and services, helping restore the business to its roots as a one-stop destination for caravans, trailers and towing solutions. One of their biggest achievements has been bringing brand-new caravans back to Tamworth, giving locals access to new models without needing to travel long distances.
Today, Tow World stocks caravans, trailers, towing accessories, motorsport vehicles and a huge range of parts from trusted industry brands including Dometic, Camec, Aussie Traveller and Coast to Coast RV. The business also offers workshop servicing, repairs, safety checks, insurance-related work and accessory fitment, helping customers stay road-ready year-round.
“What makes our service special is that we’re not just selling a product – we’re helping customers choose, maintain and safely use something that plays an important role in their life,” Gayle explains.
“For some people it’s a trailer they rely on every day for work, while for others it’s a caravan they’ve dreamed about owning for years. We take that responsibility seriously.”
That practical, customer-focused mindset flows through every part of the business. Whether someone is booking in for repairs, purchasing a trailer or fitting out a caravan for a major trip, the team focuses heavily on clear communication and honest advice.
“We try to explain things in a way customers can understand and help them choose the right product or service for their needs,” Gayle said.
“We want people to feel comfortable asking questions and confident in the decisions they’re making.”

Safety is also a major priority for the team, particularly when customers are collecting caravans or trailers after servicing or purchase.
“When customers pick up a caravan or trailer, we want them to leave with confidence,” Gayle said.
“We take the time to explain operation, coupling, load limits, maintenance and key safety features – not just hand over paperwork and send them on their way.”
The workshop side of the business continues to grow rapidly, particularly as more Australians embrace caravanning and regional travel. Gayle says the team regularly helps both locals and travellers dealing with breakdowns and urgent repairs while passing through the region.
“Every week we get customers and travellers arriving with emergency breakdowns, from damaged axles to bearing issues and everything in between,” she said.
“We genuinely enjoy helping people get safely back on the road and back to enjoying their trip.”
Tow World Tamworth is also entering a significant new chapter, with the business currently relocating to a larger premises at 13/17 Lockheed Street in Tamworth to support its expanding operations and growing customer base. The move will allow for more workshop capacity, increased stock and greater flexibility for future growth.
“Our business is growing quickly, and we’re incredibly grateful for the support we’ve received from the local community,” Gayle said.
“At our heart, we’re a local family business that genuinely loves what we do. Helping people tow, travel and explore with confidence is what drives us every day.”
