Changed traffic conditions for Tamworth motorists on Manilla Road

Tamworth motorists are advised to plan ahead next week, with changed traffic conditions in place on Manilla Road, about five kilometres north of the city, while maintenance work is carried out.

From Monday, 11 May, Transport for NSW will carry out drainage upgrades and road widening to improve the road corridor.

Work will take place from 7am to 6pm, Monday to Saturday, and is expected to continue until late June 2026, weather permitting.

Traffic changes will include a single-lane closure, portable traffic lights with alternating stop/slow conditions and a reduced speed limit of 40km/h to protect workers and motorists.

Drivers travelling between Tamworth and Manilla are advised to allow extra travel time and follow the direction of traffic controllers.

Oversize and/or overmass (OSOM) vehicles must call ahead on UHF Channel 28 and will be escorted through the site by traffic control as required.
