More than 600 visitors descended on Armidale over the weekend as St Albert’s College hosted its annual Parents Weekend and Ball.
Set against Armidale’s autumn backdrop, the weekend opened with a spirited hockey clash between Robb College and Albies at UNE Sport, followed by netball and bacon and egg rolls for spectators and players. Albies also dominated on the rugby field, defeating Robb College across all grades.
The influx of families and supporters filled local accommodation ahead of Saturday night’s Parents Ball, which celebrated the College community while raising funds for Farm Angels, the Students’ Charity of Choice for 2026.
A charity auction featuring donations from friends of the College raised more than $10,000, according to Charity Co-Presidents Chloe Shaw and Kit Lilienstein.
Head of College Steve Foley said the weekend reflected the spirit of St Albert’s.
“Parents’ Weekend captures everything that makes St Albert’s special—belonging, generosity, and the deep pride families feel in this community.”
Junior Common Room Vice President Molly Sailsbury said the event gave parents an opportunity to experience life at the College.
“It was a wonderful weekend for everyone’s parents to come together and experience a glimpse of our College life.”
Entertainment at the ball concluded with Terra Firma performing a crowd-pleasing cover of The Angels anthem Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again, as students, parents and staff celebrated late into the night.
