Hinton Drive in Gunnedah has once again claimed the coveted title of Santa Street in the Gunnedah Shire Christmas Lights Competition.
The Shire was lit with festive spirit and creativity as three streets vied for the Santa Street Award, and 15 eye-catching home displays and three innovative Farmgate/Paddock entries competed for first place.
Judges praised the imaginative and sometimes quirky designs, noting the incredible effort behind each entry.
Kris and Kerry Janson of 5 Sanders Street stood out, winning both Best Decorated Home and the Judgesโ Choice Award, while Jenny Richards at 22 Poole Street, Curlewis took out Best Christmas Theme in a Village.
The OโKeefe family at โGreenwood Grangeโ on the Kamilaroi Highway won the inaugural Best Farm Gate/Paddock Display with Santaโs Rig, constructed from hay bales and tyres.
Judges said only one point separated the winners, highlighting the imaginative ideas and dedication across all entries.
โCongratulations to all of our Christmas champions for their wonderful entries and thank you to the judges for volunteering their time,โ Mayor Fuller said.
โCompetitions like this are a fun way for our Shire to celebrate the festive period and create a cheerful atmosphere in the lead-up to Christmas.
โIt was great to see three entries in our new Farmgate/Paddock Display category this year, and I hope entries grow in the years to come.”
