SBM25: Strong Foundations

October is Small Business Month! And to celebrate, we’re highlighting some of the great small businesses we have throughout the region.

Today we have three businesses that are all about giving you strength: a hard rock quarry, disability support for strong connections, and the perfect centre to give your child a strong start.

Brooklyn Quarry

Rock solid products, family service

PO Box 190, Uralla, NSW 2358

Brooklyn Quarry is a proud family-owned and operated hard rock quarry located at Walcha Road in the New England region of NSW. Accredited and committed to quality, we manufacture a wide range of products including aggregates, crusher dust, rail ballast, road bases, gabion, drainage rock, and landscaping rock. Our accredited and tested road bases meet the highest specifications, giving contractors and communities reliable results for every project.

The business is led by Quarry Manager Scott and Operations Manager Michelle, supported by a dedicated team who thrive on delivering great service, solving problems, and keeping customers happy.

What sets Brooklyn Quarry apart is simple – we are not a global corporation. We are a family business that started fresh in a new area, in a new industry, and in a new niche. Every day we are rockin’ it with incredible products, a strong local team, and customer service that makes dealing with us a pleasure.

For quality materials and a crew that makes it easy, Brooklyn Quarry is the local choice that keeps projects rolling.

BAM Disability Services

Your support crew for life your way

Servicing Armidale, Uralla, Guyra, Inverell and Tamworth, with more areas coming soon.

Fresh, fun, and focused on real connections, BAM Disability Services is changing the way disability support is delivered across the New England region. Founded in 2024 by Jen Philp and Jacob Lute, BAM was born from a vision to create services that are personal, empowering, and community-minded.

With over a decade of combined experience in the disability sector and business management, Jen and Jacob know exactly where services can be improved. Jen’s expertise in the NDIS has helped hundreds of people access support, while Jacob brings a strong background in planning and compliance. Together, they lead a team that is passionate about building confidence, independence, and genuine relationships.

At BAM, there is no one-size-fits-all approach. From daily support to skills-building, community access, household help, and navigating the NDIS, every service is tailored to the individual. What makes BAM unique is their focus on carefully matching participants with the right support crew – people who truly understand, connect, and inspire.

Denison Street Early Learning Centre

Family values at the heart of early learning

79 Denison Street, West Tamworth, NSW 2340

At Denison Street Early Learning Centre, every child is given the opportunity to grow, explore and thrive in a safe, inspiring, and family-oriented environment. Proudly based in Tamworth and family-owned, the centre provides high-quality early education and care for children aged six weeks to six years. With small, nurturing group settings, each child receives the attention and support they need during these important early years.

What makes Denison Street special is its dedicated team of educators, many of whom have been with the service for anywhere from 2 to 22 years. Their experience and commitment bring warmth, stability, and consistency to the centre, creating a trusted place where children feel secure and families feel supported.

The service is led by a local Director who has been part of the centre since 2003, bringing deep community ties and a clear vision of quality care. With an open-door policy and a philosophy shaped by strong family values, Denison Street welcomes parents and community members to be part of the journey.

For families seeking early education that feels like home, Denison Street Early Learning Centre offers more than care – it offers connection, trust, and a foundation for lifelong learning.
