UNE offers Tamworth Students an HSC Study Boost this school holidays

UNE Tamworth Centre will host HSC Workshops

High School Certificate students in Tamworth are being offered unique access to expert HSC exam markers this school holidays.

As part of the University of New England’s continued commitment to equitable and sustainable lifelong learning opportunities, in the Tamworth Region, UNE Tamworth has partnered with InspirationED to offer free HSC workshops at UNE’s Peel House Study Centre.

The sessions will see highly experienced HSC markers meet with students to answer their burning
questions relating to the syllabus between July 7-10. They will provide tips and tricks on how
students could respond to possible HSC questions and give students greater confidence heading
into October’s HSC exams.

The UNE Tamworth sessions will focus on subject matter including Mathematics, English,
Business Studies, Biology, PDHPE and general study skills.

UNE Senior Manager for Tamworth and Regions, Catherine Lees, says the workshops are a first
for UNE Tamworth and are in response to needs identified by principals, teachers and students in
Tamworth Schools.

“These intensive HSC workshops complement the outstanding work of our local teachers by
providing additional specialist support during the school holiday period,” she said.

“By bringing expert HSC teachers and markers to Tamworth, we’re reinforcing our region’s
educational excellence and ensuring our students have every opportunity to succeed.”

“This initiative beautifully aligns with and enhances our schools’ existing HSC preparation
programs. The holiday timing means students can dive deep into subject-specific strategies. It’s a
perfect example of how educational partnerships can create additional opportunities for our
students without adding to our teachers’ responsibilities.”

“We’re building on the strong foundation our local teachers have established by offering these
specialised workshops. The combination of face-to-face sessions, recorded content, and HSC4Me subscriptions means students can reinforce their classroom learning in ways that suit their
individual study styles and schedules.”

In addition to offering the free workshops, Ms Lees said UNE Tamworth is also opening the
Tamworth study centre to enable local HSC students to study in a safe, quiet and supportive
space.

“Our HSC Study Hub at UNE Tamworth is a game-changer for Year 12 students,” she said.

“Not only can they access a quiet, dedicated study space from 9am to 6pm, but they can also
connect with university staff for guidance on early entry pathways and applications.

“When combined with these holiday workshops, we’re creating a comprehensive support ecosystem that sets our regional students up for success.”
