More than 1000 future students have signed up to experience life at the University of New England’s (UNE) Armidale campus ahead of Open Day 2025 on Friday 2 May.
With 26 tours, sessions and events confirmed across the day, the annual event will showcase UNE’s courses, campus life, support services and accommodation options to school leavers.
Director of Future Students and Engagement, Bryn Griffiths, said the number of early registrations shows there’s strong interest in what UNE has to offer.
“UNE is known for being a welcoming, supportive university that offers a different kind of student experience – especially in a regional setting. Open Day gives future students a chance to see that for themselves,” Mr Griffiths said.
The program kicks off at 9am with a student welcome and expo in Lazenby Hall, followed by a full day of sample lectures, campus tours, college visits, and interactive sessions with academics, current students and support staff. Key sessions on study pathways, early entry and scholarships will run throughout the day, with some activities finishing by 2.30pm.
“This year’s program is built to be flexible. You can stay for the full day or just drop in for what interests you most – whether that’s chatting with lecturers, checking out our labs, or seeing inside our residential colleges,” Mr Griffiths said.
Open Day is open to all school students in year 11 or 12 considering study in 2026 or beyond.
“It’s more than just a look around. The conversations people have on Open Day can genuinely shape their next steps. Whether you’re curious about a career in nursing, agriculture, teaching or business – or just want to know what uni could look like – we’ll have people on hand to help you figure it out.”
