October is Small Business Month! And to celebrate, we’re highlighting some of the great small businesses we have throughout the region.

Today we have three businesses that are all about plants: a wholesale florist, and a motel with a plant filled courtyard for you to enjoy.

Botanique 🖥️

As one of the leading florists in Tamworth, we understand the unique role that floral arrangements play in conveying emotion, celebrating special moments, and adding a little joy to people’s lives.

That is why, with our floral arrangements, we aim to create beautiful bouquets that perfectly encapsulate the sentiment of every occasion.

After seven years working in banking, Drue Daly’s life took a turn during the global financial crisis when she left her job as a loans banker to pursue her passion for floristry. Finding solace in her new job at the Brisbane Flower Market, Drue’s love for floristry blossomed, and she hasn’t looked back since.

This decision to move into the wholesale side of the flower industry was influenced by her positive experiences connecting with farmers while working in the rural finance sector. Her journey led her to engage directly with growers and immerse herself in the vibrancy of the local flower market.

Now the founder of Botanique New England, Drue’s passion for floristry has grown into something even beyond her comprehension.

Today, Botanique is a thriving boutique florist in Tamworth, NSW, providing dedicated customers with beautiful floral arrangements and a range of lifestyle gift packs for every occasion.

We are the blooming best!!

Skytask Tree Services 🖥️

Skytask is a local, family owned business, offers tree pruning and removals in Armidale and surrounding areas. Wood can be taken away or mulched on-site to keep for your garden. Skytask offers free quotes. The Skytask team ensures that they plant as many trees as they remove.

Looking up into the sky among trees of all sizes, you will find owner and qualified climbing arborist, Luke Stonestreet, with one of his many favourite chainsaws in hand. Luke brings his jovial personality to every job. He a background in botany and ecology and a deep appreciation for natural environments.

On ground level, will be Emily and Darren either with a rope, log or chainsaw in hand.

When you call or email, you will speak to April, who probably has a paintbrush or cup of tea in hand, who looks forward to organising a time that best suits you for the team to attend to your trees needs.

Emily’s work ethic, strength, chainsawing and rigging skills are unsurpassed. And Darren, well he lives and breathes all things trees, chainsaws and sharpening the ‘deadliest edges’.

Aaron Inn Motel 🖥️

Our cosy, 11-room motel may be small, but it’s full of heart and hospitality. Each of our spacious rooms is clean, welcoming, and equipped with all the modern amenities you’d expect. The rooms open onto a charming courtyard filled with vibrant potted plants, offering a peaceful retreat for guests to enjoy.

Unlike the typical “carpark” feel of many motels, our tranquil greenery makes us the perfect spot to unwind after a long drive or a busy day. Guests can relax in our leafy BBQ area, chat with fellow travellers, or cool off with a dip in our inviting pool.

For those staying multiple nights, we provide daily room service to keep everything fresh and comfortable. Our team is always eager to chat with guests and accommodate any special requests.

With reception open until 9 pm each evening, we offer flexibility for late check-ins, ensuring a hassle-free stay. Whether you’re passing through or planning a longer visit, we’re here to make your time with us as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.

Throughout October, we’ll run stories highlighting the great local businesses we have right here in our communities. This is a free service – the businesses highlighted have not paid for this story.
