Construction has begun on the Newell Highway’s largest heavy vehicle rest area near Narrabri, NSW, as part of a $261 million pavement upgrade project. Funded by Australian and NSW governments, the project aims to reduce driver fatigue and enhance road safety with new facilities for both heavy and light vehicles, slated for completion by early 2026.
