Motorists travelling between Raleigh and Armidale are being warned to expect delays as multiple roadworks take place along Waterfall Way later this month.
Transport for NSW says several maintenance activities and ongoing projects will affect traffic between the Pacific Highway at Raleigh and the New England Highway at Armidale from Monday, 12 October, to Sunday, 25 October.
Drivers are being urged to plan ahead and allow extra travel time, with delays expected to accumulate as motorists pass through multiple work zones.
Traffic controls will be in place at affected locations, and motorists must follow all signage and directions from traffic controllers.
Some sections of the route will also have restrictions for vehicles wider than 2.5 metres, with permits required to travel through affected work zones.
Heavy vehicle operators are encouraged to consider alternative routes, including the Oxley, Gwydir and New England highways. Those using the Oxley Highway should check current road conditions before travelling.
Transport for NSW says it will work to minimise disruptions but warns some delays will be unavoidable.
Motorists can stay informed through the Live Traffic NSW website or app, where they can follow individual work sites and receive updates directly to their phones.
