Pedestrian dies after being struck by cyclist in Moree

An 82-year-old man has died in hospital after being struck by a bicycle in Moree, with police appealing for witnesses and footage of the incident.

Emergency services were called to Heber Street about 12:15pm on Wednesday, 7 October, following reports the elderly man had been struck by a cyclist.

Police say the cyclist left the scene before officers arrived.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the man for serious head injuries before transporting him to Moree Hospital in a critical condition.

Police were notified about 2:30am on Thursday, 8 October, that the man had died in hospital.

Officers from New England Police District have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Investigations are continuing, with police urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has relevant CCTV or dashcam footage to come forward.
