Telstra will carry out essential maintenance on the mobile site serving Hillvue on Wednesday, 12 August, to help maintain the reliability of its network.
The work is expected to take two days. During this period, the site will be temporarily switched off at times to allow the maintenance to be completed safely. As a result, customers may experience reduced Telstra mobile coverage for short periods.
While every effort will be made to complete the works as scheduled, timings and impacts may change due to factors outside Telstra’s control. Customers can check the latest information on the planned outage at telstra.com.au/outages.
Telstra mobile customers will receive an SMS advising them of the upcoming maintenance.
The works will not affect NBN, satellite internet services, PSTN landline services or mobile coverage provided by other carriers.
If the site is temporarily offline, calls to Triple Zero made from a Telstra mobile will automatically connect via another available mobile network to ensure access to emergency services.
Staying connected during the works
Customers can continue making and receiving calls, and sending text messages, during the disruption by enabling Wi-Fi Calling. Available at no extra cost on most modern smartphones, Wi-Fi Calling allows mobile calls and texts to be made over a Wi-Fi connection.
Business owners are also encouraged to speak with their bank about connecting EFTPOS terminals to their NBN or Wi-Fi connection to help minimise any disruption to payment processing.
