Moree Plains Shire Council will present Community Showcase – One Stage, One Community, a celebration of connection, creativity and community spirit, at Moree Memorial Hall from 11am on Sunday, 14 June.
The event will bring together singers, musicians, dancers and performers of all ages, showcasing the talent and spirit of the Moree Plains community.
Performers will include Fluide Dance, Moree Academy of Dance, Moree Christian School, Moree and District Band, Moree Caledonian Pipes and Drums with Highland Dancers, students from Rach Louise, the Mitchell Family, Deeni Mitchell, Hugo Lillyman and SHAE Academy Dancers.
Moree Plains Shire Mayor Susannah Pearse said the event marked a welcome return for local performers to the hall following its renovations.
“It’s been a long time since our local performers have been able to perform at the Moree Memorial Hall due to the renovations. This event is about welcoming our local community back to the stage, enabling them to showcase their talent and providing a family-friendly event for audiences to enjoy,” Pearse said.
Council Events Manager Rachel Cubis said the showcase was about more than entertainment.
“It is more than just entertainment, it is about creating a space where these entertainers feel seen, supported and inspired. It is about building and instilling confidence in our youth, our future generations”.
