Small grants available for community projects across Armidale region

Armidale in autumn (Simon Scott; Armidale Regional Council)

Applications for the next round of Armidale Regional Council’s Community and Village Grants will open on Monday, 1 June 2026.

Funding is available for community projects across the region, with dedicated support also available for village-based initiatives. The grants program is designed to provide financial assistance for projects and activities requiring modest funding to address local needs and strengthen community connections.

Eligible local not-for-profit organisations and community groups can apply for:

  • Community Small Grants — up to $2,000
  • Community Support Grants — between $2,000 and $5,000
  • Armidale Regional Village Grants — up to $3,500

The grants are offered regularly to support projects that enhance community and recreational opportunities, celebrate culture and creativity, promote environmental sustainability and support local business initiatives.

Mayor Sam Coupland encouraged local organisations to apply.

“Every project we support through the grants program is a step towards a stronger region,” Coupland said.

“Each funding round enables many wonderful initiatives to be delivered. A small grant can be the leg-up an amazing project needs to get off the ground. I am excited for what may emerge from this next funding round!”

The Armidale Regional Village Grants provide a straightforward pathway for Local Advisory Committees and village-based community groups to access funding.

“We’re keen to ensure our region’s villages are finding and securing funding support,” Coupland said.

Applications open on Monday, 1 June 2026, and close on Monday, 13 July 2026.
