Art lovers and community members in Inverell are invited to experience a vibrant new exhibition at Inverell Art Gallery, as they proudly present Dallas Nock’s Postcards, opening on Friday, 27 February 2026.
This exciting event is part of the gallery’s dynamic 2026 program featuring local and visiting artists, and marks one of the season’s most anticipated openings. The exhibition launch will take place from 5 pm to 8 pm, offering a perfect opportunity for the community to come together, celebrate creativity, and explore a collection of work from a distinguished Australian artist.
Gallery manager, Rachel Martin, said, “This exhibition came together so easily and organically, which doesn’t happen very often in the art world.”
“Dallas was travelling through Inverell and approached us to see if we’d be interested in hosting some of his work, as soon as I saw his work, I knew it would be a wonderful opportunity. His Postcards are quite different to anything we’ve displayed in the gallery, but they are so incredibly beautiful and detailed.”
“It’s the kind of art that looking at online really doesn’t do justice; you have to see them in real life to get an appreciation of how incredible they are.”
Dallas Nock has established a remarkable artistic career rooted in fine arts and photography, with decades of work capturing evocative imagery that resonates with both local and broader audiences. Although detailed information on this specific exhibition isn’t publicly listed in full, Nock’s portfolio reflects a varied practice spanning photography, sculpture, and video, works that explore landscape, texture, and the human connection to place.
Ms Martin tells us that, alongside his Postcards watercolours, Mr Nock will also be bringing some very special Resin 3D sculptures.
In other exciting news for the gallery, Ms Martin tells us that Inverell Art Gallery is now online!
This exciting new platform means art lovers across Australia (and hopefully one day across the world) can browse, explore, and even purchase works from the comfort of home. With Dallas Nock’s Postcards exhibition available for pre-sale online, visitors don’t need to wait until opening night to secure a piece of this stunning collection. It’s an incredible opportunity for local artists to reach a nationwide audience, and for collectors to discover and celebrate the creativity coming out of Inverell, whether in person or online!
Opening night at the gallery isn’t just about viewing art; it’s a social highlight on Inverell’s cultural calendar. Presented by the Inverell Art Society, the event invites attendees to meet fellow art lovers, engage with the works in an immersive setting, and connect with the broader community in a shared celebration of artistic vision.
“Dallas will be in attendance for opening night, so I really hope the local community get behind the exhibition. He’s a really lovely man, and I’d love for the community to be here to join in with us for his first exhibition in Inverell,” said Ms Martin.
“He’s even done a few very special postcard images of Inverell, which adds a beautiful layer of local recognition to the exhibition.”
Situated in the heart of Inverell on Evans Street, the Art Gallery serves as a beloved cultural hub for the region, regularly hosting exhibitions, classes, and workshops that enrich local arts and culture.
