October is Small Business Month! And to celebrate, we’re highlighting some of the great small businesses we have throughout the region.
Today we’re celebrating the locals who keep life running smoothly – from fine-tuning engines and engraving milestones to inspiring the next generation of musicians. Each brings skill, passion and care to everything they create.

Inspiring Young Musicians Inc.
Creating opportunities for young regional talent
10 Belinda Place, Armidale, NSW 2350

Inspiring Young Musicians Inc. (IYMI) is a NSW-based charity dedicated to helping young musicians reach their potential through access to lessons, instruments, concerts and performance opportunities. With plans to expand from Armidale into rural NSW, IYMI connects aspiring performers with professional mentors and international guest artists, bringing world-class music experiences to regional communities.
Run by a broad board of professional musicians, teachers and parents, the charity is led by President Charles Timm, who is passionate about building bridges between young talent and the wider musical world. Through fundraising concerts and community collaboration, IYMI raises funds to support ongoing programs, scholarships and educational outreach.
Rather than competing with existing organisations, IYMI works in partnership with local music educators and institutions such as NECOM, complementing their work and extending opportunities across the region. United by a shared belief in the power of music, Inspiring Young Musicians Inc. is helping the next generation of regional artists find their voice and thrive.
