New England residents are being urged to have their say in a new survey aimed at gathering stakeholder feedback on the Jobs and Skills Roadmap for Regional Australia Phase 1.
The survey was launched by Local Jobs New England and North West, a program that supports tailored approaches to accelerate reskilling, upskilling and employment pathways in response to current and emerging local workforce needs.
Responses will be used to prepare a submission to Jobs and Skills Australia (JSA), to share what’s working well in communities, highlight local challenges, and suggest new ideas or approaches.
“Our goal with this survey is to help make sure New England and North West voices are part of national decisions,” said Kate McGrath, Job Coordinator at Local Jobs New England and North West.
The JSA Roadmap provides an overarching national framework to help shape the future of regional jobs and skills. Regional communities face different challenges than in cities – from distance and infrastructure to service availability. These challenges extend beyond a one-size-fits-all approach.
Phase 1 aims to create a starting point for fostering local conversations, planning and actions to enable each region of each State and Territory to also progress towards shaping the future of regional jobs and skills.
“The data we collect through the survey will be instrumental in writing a submission in response to the Roadmap and representing our region and its communities,” said Sarah Thurn, Support Officer at Local Jobs New England and North West.
To participate in this survey and share your perspective, please visit https://forms.office.com/r/FANDr7qGZN and complete by Monday, September 8, at 5pm.
