Inverell Legacy is calling on the local community to buy a badge this Legacy Week, starting this Sunday, August 31, until Saturday, September 6.
For over a century, Legacy has kept the promise to thousands of veterans’ families- helping provide financial and social support during times of hardship and grief.
As the needs of veterans’ families continue to evolve in complexity, Legacy remains committed to meeting these changes with compassion and care.
“We are adapting our services to provide personalised support that recognises each family’s unique circumstances and challenges.” said Inverell Legacy.
“Every veteran’s family deserves care that honours their journey and meets their distinct needs.”
Donations made during Legacy Week make a meaningful difference in the lives of veterans’ families.
“Your generosity directly contributes to the ongoing care and wellbeing of the families we proudly support”
General Manager, Lyn Kitawal said this year’s goal is to raise $20,000 locally from donations & merchandise sales.
“All money raised in our club area, remains here & is used to support our local beneficiaries. No money is sent to other clubs or Legacy Australia.”
“We have some new merchandise this year. For the first time in over 50 years the $5, $10 and $20 badges have had a makeover and are now oval.”
However, there is limited stock so if you want a new one, get in early.
“If you miss out on a new badge, we still have lots of the old ones.”
“There is also a new Legacy badge, which is an unusual shape and a new Paratrooper bear.”
Inverell Legacy currently cares for 105 veterans’ family members, including 21 children & university students. Services provided include social outings, education support, home visits, personal alarms, accommodation and financial assistance.
