Burren Junction Fishing Club is holding the fishing event of the year from 17 to 19 March for all fishing lovers, large and small – a carp muster.

A carp muster is a family-friendly event that calls upon all muster-goers to compete for the most carp caught. Other than bragging rights and a prize pool of $2000, a mega raffle draw is on offer at the presentation on Sunday, 19 March. With an entry fee of $10 for adults and $5 for children under 16, this is the perfect family event with fun times written all over it.

All fish must be caught within the confined area of the Namoi River, and all competitors must have a New South Wales fishing license. If you can manage this, then you’re set!

Start: 12 pm Friday 17 March

Finish: 11:30 am Sunday 19 March

Presentation Day: Sunday 19 March

Public camping areas

Pilliga Reserve, which is on the Burren Junction to Pilliga Road

You can now pre-register for the fishing competition. However, you are still required to come into the Junction City Hotel (Burren Junction) to collect your tag and pay your entry fee of $10 (adult) or $5 (child under 16).

Pre-registration will save you from filling out the form on the weekend so that you can focus less on the admin and more on the fishing. You can just rock up and ready, set, fish!

Fill in the form and email it to burrenfishingclub@gmail.com

Pre-entry is open until 15 March. For more information, contact Tash on 0448771610

Happy fishing!
