The Spring Food & Wine Festival, Tenterfield

EXPERIENCE TENTERFIELD IN SPRING WITH THE PETER ALLEN FESTIVAL AND THE SPRING FOOD AND WINE EXPERIENCE 2-5 OCTOBER 2026

One of Australia’s most celebrated entertainers, Todd McKenney, brings the music and story of Tenterfield’s most famous entertainer, Peter Allen, to life in this special one-night-only performance at the Sir Henry Parkes Memorial School of Arts.  Todd will also perform the iconic song ‘Tenterfield Saddler’ at the Tenterfield Saddler on Sunday morning.   Adam Bucknell of Weatherbeeta, owners of the Tenterfield Saddler, will share their vision for the building as well as detailing improvements achieved to date.

In addition to the fabulous Todd McKenney, the Peter Allen Festival includes live music performances – including “Those Two”, “AlteraNigella”, local performers and more, recorded Peter Allen documentary and concerts in the cinema, memorabilia displays, Tenterfield Saddler, Centenary Cottage Museum Tenterfield Saddler display, presentation by Aleyshia Manning – Peter’s Technical Director and Tour Manager in America, Liza Minelli Bar, conga lines, live broadcasts by 10FM Radio,  community events including the terrific Railway Station markets and vintage car display, look-a-like competition,  Open Gardens, Quilt Show, Spring Art Competition, and Crazy Day sales.

Spring is the perfect time to visit Tenterfield NSW.  Spring brings fresh colour, comfortable days and renewed energy to Tenterfield Shire, making it an ideal time to explore the region.  Open gardens, heritage sites, museums and exhibitions, scenic country landscapes, national parks, and a welcoming atmosphere provide opportunities to discover Tenterfield’s history, and enjoy boutique shopping while attending the Peter Allen Festival and the Spring Food and Wine Experience.

The Spring Food and Wine Experience brings regional producers together to showcase seasonal flavours, artisan products and locally made wines.  Wild Dining, an exclusive long-table culinary experience set among the blooms at Glenrock Gardens will be the opening event on Saturday with guests enjoying a six-course degustation menu.

On Sunday visitors and locals can discover the very best of Tenterfield in a vibrant celebration of regional flavour, exploring a curated selection of local wine, beer and gin, alongside gourmet barbecue, smoked specialties, artisan cheeses, truffles and handcrafted desserts.  The event offers both indulgence and education, with a dynamic program of tastings, talks and live demonstrations designed to inspire and delight. Located at the Memorial Hall from 10am-4pm.
