Kingswood residents warned of Telstra mobile disruptions

Telstra customers in Kingswood could experience temporary mobile service disruptions on Thursday as third-party network works force the shutdown of parts of a local mobile base station.

The disruption is scheduled for 29 October and is expected to last one day, with services restored once the works are completed.

Residents may experience reduced mobile coverage, potentially affecting calls, texts and mobile data.

Businesses relying on Telstra-connected EFTPOS terminals are being encouraged to check whether their devices can operate through NBN or Wi-Fi to avoid payment disruptions.

People using medical alert devices, including fall detection systems, alarm pendants and health monitors, should also contact their providers to discuss alternative connectivity options.

Telstra says NBN, satellite internet, landlines and mobile services from other providers will not be affected.

Compatible mobile phones should still be able to contact Triple Zero (000) through another available network during the outage.

Customers are encouraged to enable Wi-Fi Calling on compatible devices to maintain access to calls and texts while mobile coverage is disrupted.
